Water Resources Director Named

Gainesville City Manager Bryan Lackey announced the hiring today of Linda MacGregor as the Director of the Department of Water Resources.  “We are fortunate to have someone of Ms. MacGregor’s caliber join the City of Gainesville. Her knowledge of the State Water Management Policy and the Tri-State Water issues is a tremendous benefit and will allow us to continue to move this department forward in a timely manner,” said Lackey.


Ms. MacGregor comes to Gainesville from the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority where she served as Water Resources Division Director and Senior Program Manager. She also worked for the Georgia Environmental Protection Division as the Watershed Protection Branch Chief.  Prior to her time in State Government, she spent over 20 years in consulting engineering working closely with local water utilities around North Georgia.


Ms. MacGregor graduated from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Environmental and Water Resources. She will begin her job with the City February 15.
