South entrance to admin building now closed

GAINESVILLE, Ga. (Jan. 21, 2020) – As part of an ongoing renovation project, the main entrance to the City of Gainesville Administrative Building is now closed.

The admin building’s south entrance, the entrance facing Jesse Jewell Parkway, officially closed to the public Tuesday, Jan. 21. Visitors are now required to use the north entrance, located on the opposite end of the building closest to the Hall County Courthouse.

Signage has been erected in the immediate area directing visitors accordingly and an ADA-compliant ramp has been positioned at the north entrance. Visitors are encouraged to use the nearest parking deck for direct access.

The south entrance is expected to remain closed through September, though all other floors will be accessible via the north entrance. During this time, administrative offices will maintain regular operating hours of 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday, excluding holidays. Any changes in this schedule will be communicated via the city’s website and social media platforms.

The renovation project, upon completion, will include a new welcome center and expanded office space for several departments.

The Gainesville Finance Department, in preparation for this demo, has already relocated from the first floor to the second floor in suite 201 – its new permanent headquarters.

The city thanks the public for its patience during this progress.
