Administrative offices closed MLK Jr. Day

GAINESVILLE, Ga. (Jan. 11, 2021) – In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, City of Gainesville administrative offices will be closed Monday, Jan. 18. The following facilities and services will be unavailable during that time:

All administrative offices, including those at the

  • Gainesville Administration Building

  • Gainesville Community and Economic Development building

  • Gainesville Public Safety Complex

  • Gainesville Parks & Recreation

  • Gainesville Water Resources, etc.

Gainesville-Hall County Community Service Center, including:

  • Meals on Wheels

  • Senior Life Center

The following services will also be suspended during the holiday:


  • WeGo

  • Gainesville Connection

  • Dial-A-Ride

Garbage and recycling

  • No garbage or recycling will be picked up Jan. 18. Customers should hold their garbage until Thursday and their recycling until the following Monday. Find the 2020-21 Holiday Garbage and Recycling Schedule here.
