[ARCHIVED] Public encouraged to take hALL IN pledge against COVID-19

HALL COUNTY, Ga. (Oct. 2, 2020) – Local governments and community leaders in Gainesville-Hall County are encouraging everyone to be hALL in when it comes to the fight against COVID-19.

A collaborative effort by local governments, community leaders and key organizations, WeArehALLin.com encourages businesses and organizations to take the hALL in pledge – to follow COVID-19 directives and guidelines set forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the State of Georgia and the White House. By taking the hALL in pledge online, you vow to wear a mask when appropriate, practice social distancing (6 feet, please!) and good hygiene (wash those hands), all to prevent the spread of COVID-19, effectively protecting the health of yourself, coworkers, neighbors, loved ones and others in Gainesville-Hall County.

“Hall County has an amazing and unique community that prides itself on always striving to be exceptional, so we should never allow ourselves to settle for being average or below average,” said Rob Fowler, volunteer leader of the COVID-19 Community Leaders Coalition. “That’s especially true when it comes to something as important to the physical, mental and financial health of our community as our response to the current pandemic. The coalition members believe the only way we’ll make progress in stopping the spread of this virus is by working together as one.”

Local governments encouraging their respective communities to take the hALL in pledge, who have taken the pledge themselves, include Hall County, as well as the cities of Gainesville, Braselton, Buford, Clermont, Gillsville, Lula and Oakwood, with interest from others still pending. Organizations also in support of the effort include, but are not limited to, Northeast Georgia Health System, parent company of Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville and Braselton campuses; the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce; Lake Lanier and Gainesville convention & visitors bureaus; etc. A complete list of supporting partners are represented by their respective logos at the bottom of the WeArehALLin.com homepage.

To take the hALL in pledge today, simply visit WeArehALLin.com. Scroll down the homepage until you see a “Take the Pledge” button on the left-hand side. Clicking this button will prompt you to fill out an online form, where Gainesville-Hall County representatives will receive your organization name, your organization’s website and category, as well as your name, title, email address and phone number, and whether you take the pledge to be hALL in against COVID-19. Only your organization’s name, website and category will be used to populate the “Who’s hALL in” page, which you can visit by selecting the “View Pledges” button, located opposite the “Take the Pledge” button on the right-hand side of the homepage.

Clicking the “View Pledges” button will take you to the page where all pledges can be viewed and researched. You’ll be able to see the business or organization name of official pledges, as well as their business type and website link (if applicable). It’s Gainesville-Hall County’s hope that visitors to this site, even if they don’t take the hALL in pledge, will be able to use the pledge information to know which businesses and/or organizations they plan on visiting require masks, social distancing and following of official COVID-19 directives.

WeArehALLin.com is also a resource for frequently asked questions regarding COVID-19, as well as prevention techniques, press releases and more. Quick links to COVID-19 information distributed by the CDC, state and coronavirus.gov (White House) are also available at the bottom of the homepage for easy access.
