GAINESVILLE, Ga. (Aug. 28, 2023) – "Visit our site. Make a purchase. Affect individuals who have little to nothing. Each piece comes with a story, with a history, with a life behind the product. Your purchase and partnership intertwines your life with the reality around the world."
That’s the heartwarming mission of Purchase Effect, a cool and stylish retail shop on the historic square, which prides itself on being “more than a store”.
Learn the ins and outs of Purchase Effect, what makes it a Must-Try Monday-worthy stop and why you should make it a destination the next time you're in downtown Gainesville by reviewing additional information below.
WHO
Between international mission trips, Owner Connie Rock opened Purchase Effect in 2011. After meeting the artisans around the world and hearing their stories, she was moved to open the store and give back to the causes she cares so much about. A portion of every purchase goes to a good cause. Each brand has their own cause, and the ones that don't are donated locally.
WHAT
Some of Purchase Effect’s best sellers include Commonwealth Provisions candles and incense cones (with proceeds benefiting animal rescue), Promptly Journals (with proceeds benefiting a local cause each month), Cait + Co. bath products (with proceeds benefiting the Lovin' Soap Project) and Thistle Farms self-care products (with proceeds benefiting an abused women sanctuary). Some of our favorites also include their handcrafted leather fringe earrings and other jewelry, home decor, art, colognes and perfumes, unique greetings cards, leather goods and more. But, if truth be told, we love just about everything they carry!
WHEN
Peruse Purchase Effect’s stunning storefront and the unique gifts it carries from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday and 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday.
WHERE
Purchase Effect is located at 101 Bradford St. SE, Gainesville, at the corner of Bradford and Washington streets. Look for them near Occasions Florist and Christopher's Tuxedo & Bridal.
WHY
For every purchase made at Purchase Effect, a portion is donated to help combat poverty, injustice and pain around the world. “For items not assigned to a specific cause, a percentage of our sales will go directly to our local cause that month so that you can be sure every purchase you make through Purchase Effect makes a difference!” states www.purchaseeffect.com. Surely, these reasons and more should motivate you to stop in to the storefront or visit the online website.
