Q: When did your business open and where? If your business has operated at other locations, please list those.
A: Kilwins Gainesville opened in early April 2023 on "the fourth side of the square" in downtown Gainesville. Kilwins Gainesville (suite 120) is located in the Gainesville Renaissance multi-use development on Spring Street, joining ground-level neighbors like Cotto Modern Italian (suite 100), Boarding Pass Coffee (suite 140), Onward Reserve (suite 150) and Taqueria Tsunami (suite 160).
Q: How long have you been operating on the historic square in downtown Gainesville?
A: Since early April 2023!
Q: What drew you to operate your business in downtown Gainesville?
A: Opening a business on the square comes full-circle for Genia Reid. Her first job as a 16-year-old was selling shoes at Millner’s Department Store, and Kilwins Gainesville is located just around the corner from that site. “For me, it’s like coming home,” she said, “with all the hometown vibes!”
Q: What kinds of products and/or services does your business offer to the public?
A: Kilwins Gainesville is a sweet-lover's paradise, offering premium ice creams and sundaes (including ready-to-take freshly crafted icecream cakes); various flavors of fudge like vanilla sea salt-caramel fudge and coconut-infused German fudge; candy-coated confections like chocolate-dipped cookies, nuts and pretzels; caramel apples with various toppings; brittles and popcorns; refreshing Kilwins Koolers, etc. Kilwins Gainesville is perfect for those desiring a sweet treat on the run or the perfect gift for that friend, peer or loved one.
Q: Can you give some examples of unique products and/or services you offer that aren’t easily replicated elsewhere in town?
A: Stop in and sample some freshly-made fudge, and try some of our favorite products like dark chocolate sea salt-caramel apples, chocolate-dipped confections and any flavor of Kilwins’ super-premium original recipe ice cream in a freshly-made waffle cone.
