Gypsy Threads Boutique | 210 Bradford St. NE | Open 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday + 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday

GAINESVILLE, Ga. (July 31, 2023) – If the always-perfectly-curated window display at Gypsy Threads Boutique hasn't yet grabbed your gaze, we're 100% positive the charming mural on the exterior wall of the business has.

When traveling on West Academy Street (it doesn't matter which way), just keep your eyes peeled for a pink-and-white camper with "Gypsy Threads" painted above it and *bam*, you've arrived at one of the most popular retailers on the historic square in downtown Gainesville.

Gypsy Threads is a women's boutique proudly operating under the belief that fashion should be an expression of individuality and creativity.

"We are passionate about helping women find unique and trendy pieces that reflect their free-spirited, Bohemian style," said owner Taylor Wilson. "Our purpose is to empower women to embrace their inner beauty and confidence through fashion."

Located on Bradford Street just across from the second-level entrance to the new Gainesville North Parking Deck, Gypsy Threads carries a smile-inducing collection of garments that are ready to wear and sure to score you some major compliments. From dresses and jumpsuits to swim and accessories, you'll feel funky and free every minute you're in an outfit from Gypsy Threads.

Learn the ins and outs of Gypsy Threads, what makes it a Must-Try Monday-worthy stop and why you should make it a destination the next time you're in downtown Gainesville by reviewing the exclusive Q+A with Wilson below.

Q: When did your business open and where? If your business has operated at other locations, please list those.

A: Gypsy Threads opened in 2015 at our first location on Thompson Bridge Road. The store moved across the street in 2018 and in 2019 was when I actually purchased the store from the previous owner. I knew I wanted Gypsy Threads to be closer to the square, so in 2020, I made the move to our current location on the corner of Bradford and West Academy, right off the Gainesville square.

Q: How long have you been operating on the historic square in downtown Gainesville?

A: We opened this location in April 2020, right at the start of the [COVID-19] pandemic.

Q: What drew you to operate your business in downtown Gainesville?

A: I knew in 2019 I wanted to be in the downtown Gainesville area in order to get more exposure and foot traffic, and at that time I had no idea how huge the area would become over the next four years!

Q: What kinds of products and/or services does your business offer to the public?

A: Women's clothing and accessories, and just this year (2023), we started carrying baby and toddler clothing and accessories!

Q: Can you give some examples of unique products and/or services you offer that aren’t easily replicated elsewhere in town?

A: I think Gypsy Threads' style is different from most of the boutiques in the area. If you're looking for unique, quality pieces, we've got you covered! Beautiful Mess permanent jewelry is also located in our shop, and I believe it's the only permanent location for permanent jewelry in the area!

Q: What offerings are you most proud of and why? Give us the scoop!

A: I think over the last year, we have really just strived to be innovative and tailor to our customers' wants and needs! We are collabing with other businesses, having events, and bringing in new lines and products in order to keep up with the trends and the ever-changing economy.

Q: Do you target a specific audience? If so, can you please specify?

A: As far as age goes, no. We have customers that walk in and immediately think, "This is too young for me," but I don't think it's about age ... it's more about having a unique style. Sure, we have some younger customers, but also 30s, 40s up to 70s and 80s! My Nana just wore a stylish Gypsy outfit to a wedding last weekend!

Q: If you aim to target everyone, can you please explain how and through what products and/or services?

A: We are targeting the customer with a unique style who sees the value in quality pieces that they will keep in their closet forever.

Q: What is your favorite “must try” item you offer and why? Feel free to name more than one!

A: I don't think I could pick just one!

Q: In your own words, what makes your business a positive addition to the downtown cityscape?

A: Gypsy Threads adds a flair of individuality to the square. You can always expect a smiling face when you come shop our boutique!

Q: Anything else you’d like to add?

A: We love our customers, and we truly appreciate everyone who has helped us get this far (especially during COVID and the parking deck construction on Bradford)! We are super excited for the growth of downtown Gainesville and can't wait to see where it takes us!
