Gainesville Trolleys to hit streets Thursday, May 18

GAINESVILLE, Ga. (May 5, 2023) – It’s the moment you’ve all been patiently waiting for: the City of Gainesville, specifically Hall Area Transit (HAT), is proud to announce the Gainesville Trolleys will be returning to service Thursday, May 18.

“HAT is thrilled to share the Gainesville Trolleys transported nearly 10,000 passengers during its inaugural season in 2022,” said Gainesville-Hall County Community Service Center Director Phillippa Lewis Moss, who oversees HAT. “We are looking forward to relaunching this successful offering and connecting even more people to the City’s thriving and vibrant downtown, which has even more restaurant and retail offerings than it did this time last year. If you haven’t experienced the Gainesville Trolleys for yourself, or visited downtown Gainesville for a while, summer’s the perfect time to see what the Gainesville-Hall County community and visitors have been raving about.”

In preparation, HAT has begun putting out signage marking trolley stops in the following areas: the Chattahoochee Golf Club, 301 Tommy Aaron Dr.; and Dixon, Glenwood and Riverside neighborhoods. Yes, you read that right – HAT is also expanding routes to better meet demand and ensure the City’s two blue-and-white trolleys can be experienced by all.

Additional details, including times, maps and turn-by-turn directions, will be available ahead of the May 18 launch date. To ensure you don’t miss an update, “Like” and follow @GainesvilleGeorgiaGovernment on Facebook or bookmark gainesville.org via your favorite web browser.
