GAINESVILLE, Ga. (April 12, 2023) – Join Hall Area Transit (HAT) for its first-ever job fair from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, May 13, at 687 Main St. S.W.
Organizers of this inaugural job fair are seeking to recruit and hire on the spot WeGo drivers interested in: part-time positions (available immediately), driving between 2 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Monday-Friday; and full-time positions (available July 1), driving between 5 a.m. and 9 p.m. Monday-Friday.
“HAT just took possession of five new vehicles to help fulfill the demand for the popular WeGo vanpool service as ride requests are up by more than 50% from a year ago,” said Community Service Center Director Phillippa Lewis Moss. “Now all we need are some friendly faces to place behind the wheels to expand the service and better meet the needs of our community.”
Applicants hired have the opportunity to earn a $250 signing bonus in addition to a minimum $15.50/hour wage up to 29 hours weekly. Those interested must be 21 years of age, have a valid driver’s license and satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR). To expedite the hiring process, please apply online prior to the job fair here.
Come May 13, engage with City of Gainesville staff during on-site application reviews, interviews, MVR and background checks, then check out the WeGo vehicles for yourself and speak with current drivers about their experiences driving for the City.
WeGo, Gainesville’ newest rideshare service, is available from 5 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Friday anywhere in Gainesville-Hall County. Passengers may request a ride through the WeGo Powered by Via app, free to download on all mobile devices, or by calling 770-503-3333, ext. 1. Find additional details about WeGo here.
