GAINESVILLE, Ga. – In celebration of 2023 Georgia Cities Week April 23-29, sponsored by the Georgia Municipal Association, the City of Gainesville is offering an inaugural Georgia Cities Week Coloring Contest to children ages 5-12. The contest is FREE to enter and the first-place winner receives a City of Gainesville T-shirt, a certificate of achievement and a $25 voucher to Bruster’s Ice Cream!
To enter, simply grab the coloring sheet to your right, make it your finest work of art yet and be sure to write your full name (first and last), age, grade, school and telephone number on the back. The winners will be announced during Georgia Cities Week, so entries must be received by no later than 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 12. This will give City staff enough time to appropriately judge each and every entry before selecting the winners. First- through third-place winners will be named.
Participants must use the coloring page provided, but may color it using whatever materials they wish: crayons, colored pencils, markers, paints, pastels, watercolors, a combination of these, etc. Think outside the box and repurpose construction or wrapping papers, recycled magazines or newspapers – whatever you can get your hands on!
Entries may be dropped off in person any time from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday at the Gainesville Welcome Center in suite 100 of the Gainesville Administration Building, located at 300 Henry Ward Way, Gainesville; mailed to the Gainesville Public Relations Department, P.O. Box 2496, suite 100, Gainesville, GA 30503; or sent electronically via Messenger to the official @GainesvilleGeorgiaGovernment Facebook page. Artists must also be residents of Gainesville-Hall County.
The City wishes all artists the best of luck – we can’t wait to see all your beautiful and creative works of art!
