Additional left-turn lane to be installed on Jesse Jewell Parkway at E.E. Butler Parkway

GAINESVILLE, Ga. (March 28, 2023) – The Georgia Department of Transportation and contractor Backbone Infrastructure will install a second left-turn lane westbound on state Route (SR) 369/Jesse Jewell Parkway at SR 60/E.E. Butler Parkway.

At the project’s completion, each direction will have two left-hand lanes at the intersection. The work will also include signal upgrades with two left-turn lights for the new traffic flow.

Work will take place from 8 p.m.-6 a.m. starting Tuesday, March 28, and continue through Sunday, April 30, weather permitting. Motorists should consider alternate routes of travel during construction as some asphalt work may be done during daylight hours.

Those navigating the area are urged to drive carefully and reduce their speed while traveling through work zones, and watch for construction workers and equipment during this time. Before heading out, get real-time information on work status and traffic conditions by calling 511, visiting 511ga.org or downloading the Georgia 511 app.
