UPDATE (April 29, 2022) – It’s official! The City of Gainesville is pleased to announce crews recently completed paving in the area of the historic square in Downtown Gainesville. The following roadways (now open) recently received a fresh top coat, which should make for one smooth ride: Bradford Street from Spring to Washington streets, Bradford Street from Washington to Academy streets and Washington Street from Green to Bradford streets.
The City thanks local restaurants, retailers and those traveling in the area for their patience during this progress.
GAINESVILLE, Ga. (April 27, 2022) – Due to unforeseen circumstances, milling will continue today, April 27, on Washington Street from Green to Bradford streets. Crews are working toward completing the project by the week’s end.
Once milling is complete, crews will begin paving Bradford Street from Spring to Washington streets, then Washington Street from Green to Bradford streets, ending with Bradford Street from Washington to Academy streets.
Those navigating the area are urged to drive carefully, and watch for construction workers and equipment during this time. The City thanks the public for its patience during this progress.
