GAINESVILLE, Ga. (Sept. 8, 2021) – Customers on Union Circle from Spout Springs Road to Union Church Road, plus all side streets, are under a boil water advisory following a water service interruption.
The Gainesville Department of Water Resources (DWR) turned off water to the area to allow for repairs to a marked water main, struck by a contractor working for the school system.
The service interruption is expected to last until approximately 6 p.m. today, Sept. 8.
DWR estimates the outage has impacted around 500 customers, who are in the process of being notified about the advisory via DWR's interactive voice system.
Customers are urged to take necessary precautions to prevent damage to any equipment requiring water. Those navigating the area are urged to drive carefully, and watch for construction workers and equipment during this time.
