DWR set for downtown water outage June 2

GAINESVILLE, Ga. (May 31, 2021) – So the Gainesville Department of Water Resources (DWR) can perform system maintenance, water service will be interrupted from approximately 7 p.m.-7 a.m. Wednesday, June 2, for some customers in downtown Gainesville.

DWR stated the outage will impact only a handful of customers in the following areas: Bradford Street from Brenau Avenue to West Academy Street and West Academy Street from Bradford Street to E.E. Butler Parkway.

Customers are urged to take necessary precautions to prevent damage to any equipment requiring water. Those navigating the area are urged to drive carefully, and watch for construction workers and equipment during this time.
