GAINESVILLE, Ga. (May 25, 2021) – The Gainesville Public Works Department is reminding the motoring public of the following road closures currently in effect and lasting through late May. Both closures have enabled crews to perform utility work in the area.
• Effective May 25 until further notice: West Academy Street between Green Street NE and Northside Drive/Main Street is closed to thru traffic from 7 p.m.-7 a.m. daily. The roadway will remain open May 28-30 for Memorial Day weekend;
• Effective May 19-28: Green Street SE between Washington and Spring streets is closed daily to thru traffic.
Those navigating the area are urged to drive carefully, and watch for construction workers and equipment during this time.
