[ARCHIVED] MotoAmerica Kickoff Party races to Gainesville April 29

GAINESVILLE, Ga. (April 19, 2021) – Mark your calendars: the MotoAmerica Kickoff Party is slated for 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 29, on the historic square in downtown Gainesville. The party will precede the MotoAmerica Superbikes at Atlanta event April 30-May 2 at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta in Braselton.

“This is an exciting, nationally recognized Superbike race happening right here in our backyard in Northeast Georgia,” said Main Street Gainesville Manager Nicole Ricketts. “This kickoff party is a fun way to celebrate and get some giveaways, including potential tickets to the race.”

Hosted by Main Street Gainesville and MotoAmerica, along with Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, the party will feature MotoAmerica Superbike riders on site signing autographs and taking photos with fans, Superbikes on display – even the opportunity for attendees to explore the inside of a Superbike trailer.

“They wanted to support our downtown community,” Ricketts said of co-hosts MotoAmerica and Road Atlanta.

Attendees can also enjoy dinner and drinks from nearby restaurants and beer and wine cafés, while a DJ hypes up the atmosphere with upbeat tunes. Already have dinner plans? Grab a nightcap, walk around and check out the evening festivities.

“Road Atlanta is a large attraction here in North Georgia, and we’re thankful to be partnering with them in downtown Gainesville as we support our local community throughout what’s still a difficult season,” Ricketts said.

To ensure the safety of attendees and event organizers, hosts request everyone practice social distancing and wear masks or face coverings.

“Masks are encouraged, social distancing will be in place for all lines for autographs and celebrities will be separated from the public by tents with half-walls, plus a table,” Ricketts said. “Sanitizing stations will also be around and available to patrons.”

Those traveling in downtown, specifically around the historic square, should plan for the closure of Main Street before, during and briefly after the event.
