[ARCHIVED] GET YOUR GRUB ON!

GAINESVILLE, Ga. (April 1, 2021) – Still hungry? Get ready for a second helping of Food Truck Friday next week, April 9, at Lake Lanier Olympic Park.

After a successful season opener in March, City of Gainesville organizers are excited to welcome even more food trucks this round to satisfy the cravings of attendees and vendors alike. Come hungry from 5-9 p.m. and indulge in a generous lineup of food, beverage and dessert trucks, plus live entertainment and more.

“We have great vendors eager to come back and some fun new additions,” said Lake Lanier Olympic Park Special Events Manager Eric Larsen. “It really is a great way to wind down the week with a relaxing evening on our plaza.”

The following food trucks are expected at the April event: Tap It Growlers, offering beer and wine; Downtown Drafts, also offering beer and wine; Harvest Kitchen, offering taste bud-tingling sangria; All Around The World, offering world fare; South of Philly, offering fresh, flavorful cheesesteaks; Talmo Market Grill, offering hand-formed burgers using grass-fed Talmo Ranch beef; Dot Bowl, offering Korean barbecue; Carta’s Azucar Cuban Cuisine, offering Cuban sandwiches and more; At The Tracks Restaurant, offering casual-gourmet food; Frozen Frenzee, offering refreshing shaved ice; Juke N Jive Creamery, offering creamy, melt-in-your-mouth scoops of ice cream; and Fairly Local Cupcakes, offering gourmet cupcakes and muffins.

Singer-songwriter Ivan Duke and Friends will take the stage from 6-9 p.m. to energize the crowd, getting them on their feet and dancing to the beat. According to Duke's website, ivanduke.com, the musician has played with many different artists, including Bob Burns, the drummer from Lynyrd Skynyrd; Mark Wills, Grand Ole Opry member; Jack Green; Narvel Felts, Sun Studio recording artist and Rockabilly Hall of Fame member; Bertie Higgins, who recorded "Key Largo"; and Daron Norwood, among others. Duke has also opened shows for artists like Travis Tritt, Mark Chesnutt and Brooks & Dunn.

Additional vendors will include Watkins Total Healthcare; Explore Gainesville, featuring Gainesville Public Relations staff celebrating the City's bicentennial; Boys & Girls Clubs of Lanier; Just SNYP It; American Boat Brokers; Lanier Canoe and Kayak Club; and Lake Lanier Rowing Club.

Those who attend, including vendors, will be encouraged to wear masks or face coverings, unless eating or drinking; practice social distancing (6 feet, please!); and wash/sanitize their hands often.

To encourage social distancing, tables – and sanitizing stations – will be spaced out throughout the venue, offering attendees the opportunity to enjoy their food and/or beverage, but safely.

While event organizers will be taking every precaution to ensure social distancing and appropriate hygiene takes place, attendees will also have a chance to do their part.

Those interested in making the most of their night out may reserve in advance private lakeside seating, which includes a table on the grandstands with seating for six. A fee of $35 secures your table, which includes four seat cushions (for you to keep) and two end chairs, allowing ample space between your group and others. Seating is limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Make your reservation here.

Can't make this particular event? The 2021 Food Truck Friday season includes the following future dates: May 14, June 11 and Aug. 13.
