Intimate Evenings of Jazz, Halie Loren (Trio)

Friday, May 20, 2022

Jazz vocalist Halie Loren at the Arts Council.

A stellar voice with great tone and marvelous command of phrasing sets Loren apart from myriad of female vocalists. Old school becoming new cool in the hands of a gifted artist is a beautiful thing.”
– Critical Jazz, March 2012

The first thing you notice is that voice: gorgeous, graceful, and somehow earthy and ethereal at once. It is an instrument perfectly matched to the songwriting talents of the artist who channels it – Halie Loren. Her music has proven irresistible to concert halls, whose numbers now include performances with the Jazz Orchestra of Sicily, the Corvallis-OSU Symphony Orchestra in Oregon, and the Monroe Symphony in Louisiana. For the past three years, she has traveled the world with the members of her original band, including Canada, Japan, Italy, China, Hong Kong, and South Korea.

The Arts Council was founded in 1970 and today is one of Georgia's leading arts organizations. It promotes over 30 regional arts affiliates, presents a broad spectrum of performing, visual, literary arts and film programs, and provides many other services that also support its mission. The Arts Council is funded by individuals, corporations, foundations, ticket revenue and facility rental income.
