The 26th Annual Farm City Breakfast presented by Jackson EMC
The 26th Annual Farm City Breakfast presented by Jackson EMC is Thursday, November 11th at 7:30 am at the North Hall Community Center. Since 1995, the Hall County Cooperative Extension, Hall County Farm Bureau and the Greater Hall Chamber have coordinated the event in observance of National Farm City Week to recognize local farmers, along with those working in agriculture and agribusiness.
The program features Nick Place, the new dean and director for the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences at the University of Georgia. Prior to being appointed this year to this position, Dean has been an academic leader with a record of applying research-based expertise to the needs of agricultural producers and communities. Before coming to the University of Georgia, Dean was the director of the Florida Cooperative Extension Service and a professor in the Department of Agricultural Education at the University of Florida. Dean has also served as the associate dean and associate director of University of Maryland Extension and started his career as an extension agent at Penn State University where he conducted educational programs in dairy, livestock and community. He has a very impressive professional career, and knows agriculture through and through as he grew up in Pennsylvania dairy farming. We are excited for his potential role in improving agriculture in the state of Georgia.
Thank you sponsors: Jackson EMC (Presenting Sponsor), Ag Georgia Farm Credit, Hall County Soil & Water Conservation, Hall County Farm Bureau, Jaemor Farms, Mountain Fresh Creamery and Bagwell Insurance. The complimentary breakfast is open to the public (no charge).
