The Gainesville City School System is a Georgia Charter School System serving approximately 8,000 students from Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12 in eight specialty charter programs open to parental student choice. In 1892 the City created a Board of Education and opened the Gainesville High School.

Accreditation and Memberships

Lakeview Academy is accredited by the Southern Association of Independent Schools (SAIS). Lakeview is also a member of the Atlanta Area Association of Independent Schools (AAAIS), Georgia Independent School Association (GISA), the Georgia High School Association (GHSA), and the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS). Lakeview's Pre-K program is fully licensed by the State of Georgia, Bright From the Start.
