Engine 209 Park is closed and currently undergoing renovations.
The historic train has been preserved for public enjoyment. Engine 209 was built in 1930 and operated until 1959. The park is located on the original route of the Gainesville Midland Railway and has been home to the engine, baggage car, and caboose since 1991.
444 Jesse Jewell Parkway
The park pays homage to Gainesville’s significant place in the poultry industry. Look high in the sky to see the chicken that rests atop the 25 foot marble obelisk monument.
223 Northside Drive
The site of impressive World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War Memorials dedicated to local heroes is a must see. This park is conveniently located near the Downtown Square and is the gateway to the Rock Creek Greenway.
