Main Street Gainesville is an organization of people who care about preserving and improving the heartbeat of downtown Gainesville! Businesses, residents, property owners and non-profits are all welcome to join the vibrant community we're building in the historic district of Gainesville, Georgia.

Below is a map of the focus area for revitalization, which includes "Downtown" on the left with highlights in orange, and "Midland" on the right notated as the Main Street Corridor, with highlights in purple.

Strategic Planning

The City of Gainesville embarked on a strategic planning process for historic downtown in 2015 that involved extensive community input. Voices throughout Gainesville recognized the unique assets that define downtown. Building on these strengths, community members envision a walkable, connected downtown that preserves the rich heritage and character of Gainesville's past while embracing a vibrant future. Read the Downtown Master Plan (PDF), which integrates this community vision to create a road map for the future of Downtown.
