The Gainesville Police Department is currently accepting applications for Non-certified and Certified Officers. The Gainesville Police Department provides the City of Gainesville with emergency and non-emergency service 24 hours a day to more than 40,000 city residents and an estimated 150,000 visitors every day. Our jurisdiction covers approximately 40 square miles and includes houses and apartment complexes, businesses and industrial parks, recreational facilities, including parks on and around Lake Lanier, several golf courses, schools, churches, an airport, shopping centers, and numerous strip malls. We are a multi-faceted professional public safety organization serving a fast-paced, multi-cultural, and rapidly growing community.

Certified Police Officers

Apply now and your starting salary could be $52,525.20 (BASE) + 10 PAID HOLIDAYS = $54,449.20.

Higher pay based on qualifications. In addition, you get a take-home car, all of your uniforms/equipment, and all necessary training to better serve our community. 

Educational & Certifications Pay

Intermediate Certification= 3.3% pay increase
Advanced Certification= 3.3% pay increase
Supervisory Certification= 3.4% pay increase
