Leaf Collection

An annual service to the community, the Gainesville Public Works Department collects leaves curbside from October-January for residents within City limits.

To ensure roadways remain clear and safe, the Street Maintenance Division requests residents adhere to the following guidelines when placing leaves curbside:

  • Leaves are to be placed in long, narrow piles behind the curb
  • Do not place leaves in the gutter as it can inhibit storm water from draining properly
  • Do not place leaves in the road as this can create a hazard impacting traffic
  • Please remove all debris such as sticks, limbs and trash
