Community Home Investment Program (CHIP)
Davis Street Cottages is a collection of five cottages constructed using CHIP. This program and several others are administered through the Housing Division with an objective to benefit low- and moderate-income persons and meet community needs.
The Planning Division has developed an interactive map with the current new construction activities within City limits. These projects include everything from parking decks to apartments to businesses.
Green Street is one of Gainesville's gems and demonstrates the City's commitment to protecting historic resources. Gainesville has received its Certified Local Government (CLG) Certification which promotes historic preservation at a grassroots level and recognizes a local government's best practices.
Code Enforcement's mission is to enforce the ordinances of the City of Gainesville fairly and equitably through administrative, inspection and regulatory procedures.
The primary mission of the Building Inspection Services Division is to protect the health, safety and welfare of the people by ensuring a safe building environment.
The Planning Division serves the community by assisting citizens with all aspects of land development, including GIS information, mapping, zoning, reviewing surveys and plans for new development.
