Scott Stowers Named Deputy Fire Chief

Gainesville Fire Chief Jerome Yarbrough today announced the

promotion of Scott Stowers, a 20 year veteran of the City of

Gainesville, as Deputy Fire Chief.


Chief Yarbrough said Stowers’ training and experience stood out

among other qualified candidates. “Scott has worked in all divisions of

the Fire Department. He has the knowledge to accomplish all tasks

assigned to him. I put all my trust and confidence in him to lead the

Department as the Deputy Fire Chief,” Yarbrough said.


Stowers currently serves as Division Chief of the Gainesville Fire

Department. As Division Chief he is responsible for the Support

Services, Special Operations, and Administrative Divisions of the Fire

Department. He is certified by the State of Georgia as an Emergency

Medical Technician and Firefighter and has 20 years experience in the

Fire/Rescue and Emergency Management Services field.
