American Red Cross Classes and Certifications

American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Blended Learning Courses

Get trained to teach water safety,including the Basic Water Rescue and Personal Water Safety courses, six levels of Learn-to-Swim, three levels of Preschool Aquatics and two levels of Parent and Child Aquatics.

Prerequisites: Be at least 16 years old on or before the last day of the instructor course and complete the pre-course session

Prerequisites

Minimum age of 15.
Swim 300 yards continuously using front crawl and breast stroke.
Starting in the water, swim 20 yards using front crawl or breaststroke, surface dive 7–12 feet, retrieve a 10-pound object, return to the surface, swim 20 yards back to the starting point with the object and exit the water without using a ladder or steps, within 1 minute, 40 seconds.

First Aid CPR AED Course

The purpose of the First Aid/CPR/AED program is to train responders to overcome any reluctance to act in emergency situations and to recognize and care for life-threatening respiratory or cardiac emergencies. The program provides the responder with the knowledge and skills necessary in an emergency to help sustain life and to minimize pain and the consequences of injury or sudden illness until professional medical help arrives and takes over.
