The Gainesville Police Department is proud to announce to our youth the implementation of a Junior Police Academy (JPA). The JPA program is presented by the Gainesville Police Department as part of our Community-Oriented Policing initiative.
The JPA is designed to provide young adults with basic information about law enforcement and police activities. The ultimate objective is to establish a positive relationship between the youth and law enforcement representatives in our community.
We are certain that the program will pay dividends to improve the quality of life for our teens, furthermore; we hope the students will use the information to help educate both their immediate family and fellow teens, within their neighborhoods and schools, concerning law enforcement activities and state and local laws. Your application for admission to the Junior Police Academy demonstrates your commitment to your community. Applicants must be 14-18 years of age.
The JPA will begin on Monday June 2nd – Friday the 6th from 8:30am to 4:30pm. The registration deadline is May 16, 2014. The application is attached below.
