Few choral masterworks engender the "gut response" that this incredible compostion by the German composer Carl Orff recieves every time it is presented.  The lyrics are taken from ancient manuscripts found in Baveria representing the pipular songs of a wide area of the western world in the 11th and 12th centuries and celebrate the coming of Spring, falling in love, and other more earthly desires(!).  Carmina Burana is a chorus enthusiast's favorite.
