Energy Rebate Program for Residential and Non-Residential Owners

If you’ve been thinking about ways to make your home or business
more energy efficient the City of Gainesville might be able to help you
pay for it. The City of Gainesville is using part of its energy efficiency
and conservation block grant administered through the Georgia
Environmental Finance Authority to provide rebates ranging from
$1000 to $3000, but not exceeding 50% of the total for energy
efficiency upgrades. The Rebates are designed to help residential and
non-residential owners increase the energy efficiency and comfort of
their homes and places of business.

Jessica Tullar, Special Projects Manager for the Gainesville
Community Development Department, said interested residents or
business owners should contact her office  before completing any
work. “We will review the application packet and ensure eligibility.
Rebates will be considered for the following retrofits: insulation,
heating, ventilation, and air, efficiency lighting, ENERGY star
appliances, water heaters, energy audit/assessment, and duct and
weather sealing,” Tullar said.
