What are the rates under the new conservation rate structure?
Understanding the new rate structure is not difficult, but it requires some explanation. Basically, the "per CCF" charge increases at certain usage levels to encourage conservation. The table below includes the new rate structure as of January 1, 2008.
| Consumption CCF's |
Inside City |
Outside City |
| 0 - 10 CCFs |
$1.92 |
$3.84 |
| 11 - 18 CCFs |
$2.40 |
$4.80 |
| > 18 CCFs |
$2.88 |
$5.76 |
Here's an example applying the new rate structure to usage. Let's say you live in the City and used 25 CCF of water. The total with the new rates would be $58.56. Here's how it breaks down:
| 10 CCF @ |
$1.92/CCF = $19.20 |
| 8 CCF @ |
$2.40/CCF = $19.20 |
| 7 CCF @ |
$2.88/CCF = $20.16 |
|
| 25 CCF |
$58.56 |
