GAINESVILLE NONPROFIT DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION, INC. (GNPDF)
In 1970, the City of Gainesville established the Gainesville Nonprofit Development Foundation, Inc. (GNPDF) to oversee land purchase and housing development. A nine-member Board appointed by the City Council and staffed by a Housing Programs Manager governs the Non-Profit Foundation. The mission of the GNPDF is "to eliminate slums, combat community deterioration, secure adequate housing, and improve the living conditions of residents living in the city of Gainesville, including land purchase and project development, and to engage in all lawful activities directly or indirectly related thereto."
The Gainesville Non-Profit Development Foundation makes loans to applicants that are unable to obtain a loan from a private lender. The loan is used solely to help pay for repairs under the Rehabilitation Program. Regular board meetings are held quarterly at the Carol Lunday Center, conference room 200, 430 Prior Street, SE beginning at 4:30 p.m.
(meeting schedule: July 9, 2008 and October 8, 2008)
