City Welcomes New Tourism and Trade ManagerGainesville Communications and Tourism Director, Catiel Felts, announced the hiring today of Vicki Wineland as Tourism and Trade Manager for the City of Gainesville. “We are very excited to have Ms. Wineland with us and to continue our focus on Gainesville as a destination for leisure and business travel. We will be working very closely with the hotels, attractions, and meeting planners and look forward to benefiting from her expertise in the tourism industry,” Felts said.
Wineland said she’s excited to begin her new position. “I know it’s been said many times before, but I can’t stress enough how attractive Gainesville is as a small City with big City amenities. The people are warm, friendly, and gracious and tourists appreciate this. As more and more meeting and leisure travel planners look for affordable destinations Gainesville becomes even more attractive as a culturally rich location,” Wineland said.
Most recently, Wineland worked for Soque River Mills where she served as Marketing Director for the Old Clarkesville Mill for the past 12 years. She also serves as the Director of Education for the Northeast Georgia Mountains Travel Association, Publicity Director for the Northeast Georgia Arts Tour and on the marketing committee for the Southern Highroads Trail.
