City Receives Financial Award for 20th Year

The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting
has been awarded to the City of Gainesville for the 20^th year by the
Government Finance Officers Association for its comprehensive
annual financial report (CAFR). Gainesville Administrative Services
Director, Melody Marlowe, accepted the award on behalf of the City.
“Receiving the award for the 20^th year is quite an honor and speaks
volumes about the professional staff working for the City. Each year
wework to improve the CAFR by making it more user friendly while
meeting the requirements of the law in the presentation,” Marlowe
said.

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in
the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its
attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a
government and its management.
