Chief Receives Commendation

Gainesville Police Chief Brian P. Kelly received the Law Enforcement Commendation Award for Excellence in Law Enforcement Service from the “Sons of the American Revelation” on December 8th at the Elk’s Club on Riverside Drive.
The Law Enforcement Commendation Medal is presented to one who has served with distinction and devotion in the field of law enforcement.   The medal is intended to recognize exceptional service or accomplishment in the field of law enforcement.  The obverse of the medal depicts a police badge design surmounted by a gold eagle with the SAR (Sons of the American Revelation) Badge below.

"I am extremely honored and humbled to accept this award.  I greatly enjoy serving the community of Gainesville and I am proud of the Gainesville Police Department's relationship and partnership with the community and all of our work together to improve the quality of life and to ensure the safety of our community."
