The main feature of Financial Services is the Center For Family Prosperity (CFP). This is a collaboration of the City of Gainesville, Hall County Government, Brenau University, and the United Way of Hall County and it is designed to help working families improve their financial position. 

This program offers:

  • Financial Emergency Assistance is available to eligible families.
  • Financial Education Courses
  • Free income tax preparation-The AARP prepares income tax returns for free for low-to moderate income taxpayers, with special attention to those 60 and older (not exclusively). AARP volunteers have provided this service for more than 40 years throughout the US. 

Volunteers are needed during the tax season to assume different roles.

The Gainesville-Hall Community Service Center is pleased to announce that AARP will prepare taxes at no charge this coming tax season starting February 3rd

and ending April 13th, 2016.

Dates: Every Wednesday 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm

Saturdays February 6th, February 20th, March 12th and April 2nd 9:00 am to 2:00 pm
