Gainesville Parks and Recreation Took Top Honors

at the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association’s Annual Conference


Jekyll Island, GA - Gainesville Parks and Recreation was once again named Best in the State in its population category in 2010 by the Georgia Recreation and Park Association at its recent Annual Conference in Jekyll Island, Georgia. In addition to receiving the coveted Agency of the Year Award, Agency staff members were recognized for their contributions to the industry with the following Awards:

J. Melvin Cooper, CPRP, Director of Gainesville Parks and Recreation, was inducted into the Georgia Recreation and Park Hall of Fame.

Michael Graham, Deputy Director of Gainesville Parks and Recreation - Distinguished Administrative Professional Award

Missy Bailey, Roy Hammond District Leadership Award

Judy Williams, Distinguished Administrative Support Staff Award

Meghan Hill, Distinguished Aquatics Professional Award
